Patan Durbar Square

Here is the famous Patan Durbar Square in Patan, Kathmandu, Nepal (last picture below). This is actually just walking distance from our house. Many of the temples here were built in the 1500s and the 1600s. We decided to go and see the sights this past Saturday and found ourselves almost lost in a sea of people.
This particular day, just so happened to be, Lord Krishna's birthday and thousands of followers showed up to give their offerings and to receive their blessing. This particular temple is only opened up once a year and so the people come in droves on that particular day.
Check out this house below. There is a basket shop below and the owners most likely live on top. I'm not sure I'd want to be there during an earthquake!
